Sania Mirza is a popular tennis player from India. She began her professional tennis career in 2003. In 2004 she was awarded the Arjuna award by the Indian Government. Sania Mirza is the highest ranked female tennis player ever from India, with a career high ranking of 27. Mirza won her maiden Grand Slam title in the 2009 Australian Open in Mixed Doubles with Mahesh Bhupathi. She was engaged in July 2009 to Sohrab Mirza, but the engagement has been called off later citing incompatibility. On March 29, 2010, it has been reported in media that Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik will get married on April 15.
