I’m too old for that crap. It’s so silly, so pointless, and it’s motivated by a culture that for some reason finds it entertaining to perpetuate the glorification of our youth. It’s really sad and disinteresting. I mean, I know people really suffer and I just think, ‘How can they perpetuate that?’

It’s silly to consider it a personal triumph for myself that in almost 24 years in showbusiness — except for being pregnant — I’ve weighed within about a five to 10lb range. That seems unusual, but I’m lucky I haven’t suffered those things. I think it’s important for us to start perpetuating the healthy, happy way of looking at it as opposed to supporting the negative ideal of what a girl should ideally look like.

It was beautiful traveling to all those amazing places with my family. I’ve stayed in touch with lots of special people I met while shooting the film. It taught me to appreciate the ones you love and just have a blast. It’s a corny cliche but I really have made friends for life. These are people who I will stay in touch with until the end of time.

There’s one little room in my house which is filled with all my clutter and bits and pieces. My sewing machine is up there, and all my knitting stuff. It’s a place where I can go to relax and unwind. I don’t get to spend a lot of time up there, but at least I know it’s there.

I don’t have the luxury of sitting around anymore. I must have had bags of spare time before I had children but I don’t know what I did with it and I didn’t appreciate it. But it’s such a terrific trade off. And as with anybody who’s a mum or a wife, it just becomes part of your everyday routine. Some days it’s super fun and some days it’s a chore.

When you’ve got four people to get dressed to get out the door you don’t really tend to spend a lot of time on yourself.

But that’s the way I roll anyway. I was never one to do my hair and make-up just to go down to the market, so it’s really not that much different. If I get a little eye cream on I feel like I’m ahead of myself.

The body is a great machine and it knows how to take care of itself. I think more often than not the things we do to our skin or our bodies can hold it back from doing its proper job.

It was hard on take ten with a giant plate of pasta. It is a challenge and I love a good meal. Someone suggested I had a spit bucket but I can’t do that because it makes me gag. It just grosses me out. But I probably put on about seven pounds in Rome when we were shooting. I ate a lot of pizzas in Naples.
