Emma Thompson's became famous for her performance in the 1989 romantic comedy movie The Tall Guy. She won several acting awards, including an Academy Award for Best Actress and a BAFTA Award for Best Actress for her performance in the 1992 movie Howards End. She was nominated again for the Academy Award for Best Actress and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress the following year for The Remains of the Day and In the Name of the Father respectively.
